Ron,

I have also heard John, W6FE, on his Flex.  It sounded dead clean to me...
I have started recording MP3 audio clips of all these on air encounters, and
will be listing them on an internet server page, so you (or whoever is
interested) can just listen to them over and over again (hihi..) and draw
their own conclusions.

In a detailed QSO tonight with K0SXO and N4ZZ (two very expert contesters
and multiple Orion owners!) they confirmed the audio differences between
software versions and TX audio. I think you maybe heard that QSO as well?
