Since the Orion has two receivers, one of which can tune well
out-of-band, I would like to see

TenTec offer the following feature in regards to the Noise Blanker. As
has been recently noted on

this board, the narrow roofing filters in the Main RX cause problems
with the hardware noise

blanker, as theory suggests. Many years ago, Collins offered an
outboard Noise Blanker for

the KWM2, which was essentially an out-of-band wideband receiver (around
30MHz, as I

recall) which was used for the noise receiver to key the blanker in the
main receiver. I

imagine those facing QRN would gladly trade off the second receiver
(which they can't

hear on because of the QRN) for blanking the noise in the main receiver.
One might assume

that the firmware could be written to allow this interaction.
