I don't have the white dot, but I also have my call stored in SEND1.  Last 
night in the DX contest I did notice that I was losing the first few 
characters. 
 This was the first time that had happened, and I've been sending my call 
from SEND1 for quite some time.  Re-recording my call into SEND1 remedied the 
situation.
