[TenTec] Corsair II meter dim problem???

I have a Corsair II and would like to hear from others that own one if the 
S-Meter light dims on full output on SSB peaks.
The LED display is steady and I measured Amps after the plug on the back of 
the rig.
Amp draw is fine and output on O'Scope is not clipped.
Is this usual behaivor for the Corsair II?
Could the bulb be getting ready to go?
I don't want to fix something that ain't broke.
