I noticed just the same thing today while checking the receiver during
the WPX contest on CW.
On CW, the Orion's audio sounds like it's being overdriven and gets raspy
when the selected AGC is on FAST or OFF and the audio gain is turned up a
bit. This doesn't happen in the SLO, MED and PROG AGC settings.
On CW the factory settings for PROG works good for both weak and strong
signals so I decided this is where I will keep it when working CW.
