The review in the April CQ magazine addresses the key input and paddle input
connections. You can turn off the internal keyer in the menu, and plug an
external keyer into the radio a number of ways. The ptt connector on the
front, the key jack in the back (which can be used for paddles or straight
key), and there is also a PTT terminal on the accessory connector which is
normally used for things like a foot switch, but could be used to key the
radio.

The radio has the ability to download software updates via a computer; but I
am not sure if the frequency selection can be accessed for direct frequency
entry. It seems likely you have to go thru the control program. Since it
is capable of the several digital modes, there is a lot of ability built
into the radio.
