My experience with my Omni VI was the 250 hertz filter did indeed have much
more loss than the 500 hertz filter in both the 9 mhz and 6.3 mhz position.
There is a jumper to compensate for the 500 hertz filter loss but no
additional
jumper for the extra loss for the 250 hertz filters.  I made little one
transistor
filter insertion amplifiers that I put on the input to these filters.  I
experimented
with the gain until I saw no change in S meter reading when selecting these
filters.
