With Ten Tec's fine 6m Transverter!

It is hard to beat at $95, with the Scout turned to the proper power and
driving it from a 20M setting.

Comparing that to the QRP kits from some individual makers at $80 for a good
40M CW kit, (sometimes without enclosure), it would not be possible to make a
stand alone 6M radio for $95, with the flexible performance of the Scout,
digital readout, keyer, SSB, etc.

The 6M kit from Ten Tec for use as a translator, has a fine enclosure that
matches the color of the Scout, and is sturdy steel construction.

The manual is better than Heathkit, and the kit very straightforward in
construction. The size is compact, about like a 'brick" for a VHF rig.

Another way to think of it, is that it can be used with other 20M rigs you may
own, thus giving you future expansion.

The key to 6M operation is not so much power, but having a good antenna for
the openings. When the band is open, its hot; when its not its not.
With the money you save buying the translator kit, you can build or buy a fine
beam, and small rotor. Hmmm, better hurry, the VHF Sweepstakes of ARRL is
Jan. 18!!
