Hi David,

I studied the links you provided.
I did not see specifications for
RMS noise voltage or frequency
bandwidth. Indeed, these specifications
make no sense for a battery pack,
which the Super Beast Headway
comprises.

What is your end application for
a battery pack of this kind?

There are some inconsistencies
in the data provided on the
Super Beast Headway page.

If individual Headway LiFePO4
cells are rated at 8 Ah, then
a series string of 8 such cells
(giving ~ 24 V for the bus voltage)
has only 8 Ah capacity. Paralleling
6 series strings of Headway cells
would yield 48 Ah capacity, but
that would require 48 Headway
cells. The photos are not clear
enough to count the number of
Headway cells, but the enclosure
doesn't appear large enough to
accommodate 48 Headway cells.

There doesn't appear to be
any onboard electronics in
this product - the cooling fan,
high current contactor, and
the current transducer are the
only visible 'electronic' parts.
In the DIY video the demonstrator
cuts the cabling that nominally
provides individual cell voltage
and possibly cell temperature
monitoring functions to an external
battery management system.

Good luck finding a low-RFI
battery management system.

73,
Mike, K8CN

Data provided for this linked battery pack include:

RMS noise voltage referred to primary <40 DC-20MHz

Frequency bandwidth DC-240KHz

A low-RFI BMS would also need to be added the on-board electronics.

WDYT?
