Hi Hollie,
If you want to check your home for noise, the best tool for the job may be
the device receiving the noise.
If the problem is RFI affecting ham radio, use that radio. Monitor the noise
and have someone turn off your breakers one at a time. When you figure out
which one turns off the radio run an extension cord from a different circuit
to power the radio while you check that circuit.
When the circuit supplying power to the noise source is cut off the noise
will stop. The use of a portable am radio works well for this also. When
using an am radio tune between stations to better hear the noise. Using your
rig in am mode simplifies the process by making it easier to hear the noise
characteristics.
Also, check out my web site for the following. These will help.
