This is not technically an RFI problem, but it's somewhat related. I have
four 75 watt recessed floodlights in the ceiling of my shack. As they age
and get ready to burn out they produce a singing sound for several days...
then poof. What causes the noise? Also... the lights seem to experience
sympathy pains... when one goes out the others are not far behind. Is the
later problem due to the increased voltage present when the first one blows
or what? I wouldn't have thought the increase was enough to cause a problem.

Perspiring minds want to know.
