Ken,

I think it is a great idea. I am especially excited about the 
possibility of sending using the paddle (because I enjoy doing it, even 
if it is not the "best" way to operate in a contest) and having what I 
send show up in the callsign field. I imagine that getting just the 
callsign there and not the other stuff that also gets sent may be a bit 
tricky. As for the speed setting I think that I would usually want the 
keyer paddle sending speed to be the same as the canned messages and 
keyboard inputted sending, though perhaps not always. Often I find it is 
handy to have an alternate (usually slower) speed keyer available for 
operators or band conditions that require it.

Also thanks for the file you have sent for me to check with my Ten-Tec 
OmniVI. I have not yet unzipped the file and tried it out. My unzip 
utility is lost somewhere. I'll let you know as soon as I try it out.
