With regard to category shopping, a few years ago in SS I was missing NT for
the sweep, so with less than an hour left in the contest, I turned on
packet. Even though I sent class B throughout the contest, I entered
assisted, as I did use assistance. I'm sure this happens all the time when
an antenna fails and the operator decides to go single band, or low power is
too frustrating, so you turn on the amp and change categories.
