I went through a couple changes here when I remodeled some years ago. I
started with 4' fluorescent over each station, that lasted about an hour. I
then tried some low voltage halogen, but they were too harsh for me. I
played with gooseneck lamps, floor lamps, and a couple others to see what
was reasonable. In the end I put up good old 120v track lights with 60w
floods, first 2 over each station, but then reduced it to 1 over each
station. They are located just about over the front left front corner of
the operating table and are angled in toward the equipment. That seems to
give enough light to read dials and keyboard markings without glare on the
screens.
