This may be part of your misunderstanding about the Dunestar and W3NQN filters.

The Dunestar filters are NOT  7-pole but rather  3-pole designs.

CONSTRUCTION: The filters are 3-pole, top-C coupled.
Hi-Q capacitors and inductors are used for tuned circuits.
