And then someone claims the tape is fixed, and the argument becomes between 
different individuals, and another mess erupts that contest sponsors and 
organizers don't have the time or energy to want to get into the middle of.

There was a rather well-known W6 who used to tape his operating on long 
running VHS for review (and to claim total accuracy), but it never worked as 
far as the ARRL Contest Branch was concerned.

If there are people out there who are breaking these rules, let's simply 
agree not to work them in any contests until they learn the lesson. The best 
policing of our contesting community is what we do ourselves.
