This is also nuisance with FT-1000MP. Simple mod on CTRL PCB requires
cutting one track, adding 3 resistors and diode from CAT port RTS/DTR pins
leaving both KEY sockets for manual internal keyer paddle. Once upon a time
hams used to modify their rigs...

Most K2 owners would not hesitate to modify their rigs, after all, they usually have built them with their own hands!


However, resolving the CW PTT issue while retaining the internal keyer is a problem, since the main microprocessor is all of the I/O paths.
