I'm looking for a source of reasonably-priced IRCs. Somewhat flexible on the
number, but ideally would like to buy about 500. Appreciate any help!

There have been some corrections to the Rotator Pal article published
in the February, 1996 QST. Also, there have been some other improvements
and refinements to this contest-oriented modification of Telex/Hygain
rotator controllers. If interested, send me e-mail directly and I will
forward the info directly instead of using bandwidth here...

Subject: Towers near airports

For those interested in towers near airports, FAA Advisory Circular
AC 70/7460-2J has all the required information. Generally, the airport
in question must be listed in the current Airport Facility Directory
or an airport operated by an armed force of the United States. If
you located closer than 20,000 feet to one of those airports and it
has one runway more than 3,200 feet in length, you may need to file
a notice. Any listed heliport would also be considered even if there
were no 3,200 foot runway. The circular is 11 pages long. I would
be glad to copy it for anyone that might need to file. As a couple
people stated, if you plan a tower over 200 feet anywhere, there is
a need to file with the FAA. I got interested in this as Matt, KC1XX,
is located close to someone's private runway. It's not listed and
I don't think it is over 3200 feet in length, so there was no need
to file, except when Matt puts up his full size 3 element 80 meter
beam at 300 feet. But that's a secret right now.
