Comments:

I played a little in the contest, with substantial limitations. I used a
Quicksilver Radio 40M Hamstick jammed into the ground in my backyard, with
radials that were cut for 17M, and a covering of wet snow on everything. I had
notions of working 15M instead of or in addition to 40M, but eventually decided
to just be a single-band-40 operation.

I started at 0000Z Friday night and operated for about 2.5 hours, and was very
pleased to see my little hamstick get out to VE6 and everywhere in between. On
Saturday I operated for about 30 minutes before the band dropped out with
daylight, and resumed operating around 1930Z when the terminator started to
approach. Longest distance QSO was with OT2A in Belgium. I worked several XX#RAC
stations, but missed a few as well. I worked VE9AA and a few other MCCers.
