Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W5MPB did Multi-Op HP in the 2023 ARRL 10 M test. N3UM got all
our CW Qs. W5MPB got all our SSB Qs.
We hoped to beat our best-ever result; 772 Qs and a 641.5 K score
claim, in 2022. We did that; 1.18 X the Q pts and 1.03 X the total
mults, for 1.2 X the score. SFI was ~the same.
At 00Z start, it was like a VHF test with no E skip. In 1.5 hrs
N3UM got 59 CW Qs in DC & 7 states, all LOS. W5MPB had to come
late, & got just 2 SSB Qs, MD & VA. At 0201Z QRT we had 61 Qs &
10 mults, vs 135 Qs & 42 mults at 0315Z QRT in 2022.
Daytime was much better. N3UM 1240-1410Z ran for 87 of 96 CW Qs
and 28 Ctys in 90 min, nearly all EUs. W5MPB 1413-1522Z got 51 EU
Qs & 29 Ctys in 69 min. N3UM 1530-1618Z got 44 NA Qs and 13 St/Pv
out to CA. W5MPB 1651-1753Z got 55 NA Qs & 17 St/Pv out to WA.
At 1753Z we had 307 Qs, 46 St/Pv, and 85 of our final 119 Ctys.
N3UM 1814-2021Z got 72 CW Qs & 21 St/Pv, DE to WY & HI. From 2031-
2230Z W5MPB got 70 SSB Qs + AK HI RI & 3 more. N3UM 2246-2318Z
got 16 NA & SA Qs + ID, then rate died.
Back on 1251-1435Z N3UM ran for 134 Qs at 77/hr, 95% EU. W5MPB
1443-1757Z ran for 32 of 103 Qs; many EUs till ~1615Z, then NA
& SA. N3UM then ran for 79 NA Qs 1824-1922Z.
In our last 3.6 hrs 1924-2301Z we swapped modes after 4 to 24 Qs
as band maps cleared and refilled, for 52 CW and 47 SSB Qs,
+ 7 more Ctys incl. JA & VK, and 10 more St/PVs incl. 5 XEs.
