Comments:
This was meant to be an experiment to see how to use the new amplifier in the
ARRL 10M contest this weekend. Antenna was mostly the 88' center fed zepp. It
seemed to be tuned so that there was absolutely no SWR, but the amplifier
protection circuit kept turning the amplifier off and I had to wait at least 3
minutes for it to be ready again. I never found a band I could make more than a
few QSOs on before it went off again. I guess I have learned a lesson: I
should be low power with just the transceiver in this weekend's contest. That's
not the result I wanted. Seems the new amplifier is not the answer to my
problems and I need to rush up getting the old Alpha 78 repaired.
