Comments:
Conditions were very poor during the entire contest, especially the first night
and suspect this was due to the Geomagnetic Storm. Lots of flutter in signals
around 0200 UTC Saturday. Lightning down South near MS, LA, AL, FL the first
night was not too bothersome, and it was more noticeable the second night.
Very few stations heard from 7 land and did not hear any VE5, VE6, VE7, OR, or
WA stations during the entire contest. Was able to work KH6 the first night and
heard them well both nights but was not able to work any California stations
until the second night of the contest. Had a very brief opening into Europe
around 0630 UTC Saturday which was a surprise considering the very poor
conditions.
Encountered a little local RFI during the second night of the contest but had
worked most stations by then so it was probably not much of a factor. My
numbers were way down last year, and this year they were also down but put more
hours in the chair operating (and calling CQ) which brought my numbers back up a
little bit but still considerably down from previous years.

Transceiver: K3 (borrowed from my good friend W9RE)
TX Antenna: 68 foot base loaded vertical wire hanging straight down from a very
tall Sycamore tree with 55 short buried radials (2500 feet of radials)
RX Antennas: 3 small point fed pennants (pointing 40, 160, and 300 degrees).
