It was great to operate again in SS after John and I both couldn't operate last
year due to work priorities. We started by repairing our 40m dipole on the tower
on Friday which took about 4 hours longer than we estimated but we got it done -
with a lot of help from Ken (K5RG) supporting the tower work.
It was an interesting contest as we struggled to keep momentum into the 3rd and
4th hour and overall fell quite short of challenging our best year. But as they
say, there's always next year!
We got in line for VE3RX to close out the sweep with ONN - thanks for getting on
and managing the pile. We later got another ONN running on 15 about 3 hours
later - those were the only two I saw/heard all weekend.
Overall, it was a great weekend to operate and unplug from everything else.
