Comments:
Originally intended to operate from my home QTH but my triband Yagi was not
working. Decided to activate POTA K-2070 Heckscher State Park in East Islip, NY,
near me. I've been there many times. I put up a dipole on the back of my truck
using a 15-foot fiberglass mast. I had limited time but had fun. I ran between
25 and 50 watts out. Used start out using an Elecraft K3S but ran into some
problems with its power cable. I switched to my mobile Yaesu FT-891 and finished
the activation with it. I've already uploaded my logs to both POTA and to the
NAQP site. Wish I could do more! Thanks for all the contacts! 73, George N2GA
