Hello From Cedar Park, Texas!

Very strange / limited operating this time, and using my KX2 / endfed. I ended
up on a last minute flight to Austin, was picked up from the airport by my
sister, but she had to work for a bit at the skate rink, before taking me to my
mom's house. I was in a state of no sleep, quite jetlagged, and with an hour of
boredom. I wandered around the area until I found a decent enough spot in the
shade (it was 100F!!), put up my 30ft mast + endfed, and tried it out. W1AW/KH6
was quite loud and easy for me to work! Was not expecting that! Heard a few
others, but wasn't able to make any other contacts (I tried!). After about 20
minutes, found myself covered in fire ants, so I bailed. Not a fan of fire
ants!

No other opportunities for ham radio for me during this contest - but what an
adventure for the one contact I had!

Aloha and 72

Heather
