Comments:
First of all, I am very thankful to Vicenç (EA6FO), and very specially to Julio
(EA3AIR) and Patro (Julio's XYL) for their hospitality and their great support
before, during, and after the contest.
This time I arrived on the island on the previous weekend, as some major
maintenance work had to be done. Together with Julio, we managed to dismantle
and mount/re-cable again the whole station with some optimizations, put back the
radials of the 80/160m vertical, extend the long V towards NA used in 40m, and
install the two beverages (EU/AS & NA) used in the low bands. Finally, with
the help of Vicenç, we also fixed a 5 el. yagi for 15m that got recently
broken. The station worked wonderfully during the whole 24h.
Regarding the operation, I love this contest. It was also very interesting to
keep track of the progress of the main competitors on the online scoreboard
(OK7W, VE3JM, LY5W among others), thanks for sharing, and congrats on the nice
scores. Finally, a new EU record is claimed together with OK7W. Let's see who
makes fewer errors in the checks! :-)
