Comments:
John, W4IX, asked if we could leave the station hooked up during monsoon season
in order to work this contest together. Between his motivation and an interest
in working the WRTC teams it was an easy yes.
The station had a major overhaul by W9KKN and KI6RRN during WPX SSB, well before
leaving for referee and competitor slots in Italy. I had just returned from
KL9A's future super-station in Shawmut, MT. With all the amazing new tech it did
leave me scrambling to get a basic single radio working with all the antenna
options here.
Once again W4IX came out and did a wonderful job driving the Icom 7610 and Alpha
combo. He made some cool stuff happen and got plenty of EU in the log. I
provided relief shifts around the cool desert weather property work here and of
course the smoked beef dinner ops are accustomed to here. We both had a great
time experiencing some awesome EU runs and clearing the band map quickly.
