With my amp out of commission since the WPX CW contest, I was "forced"
to go Low Power. This proved quite a challenge, given the very noisy condx.
This required many repeats, if they heard me at all. Still, I persevered and
even had short runs on 40m and 80m on Saturday night. What impressed me most
was when I called any of the WRTC stations, they would pick up my call first
time and zero time wasted. I was also surprised at how long 20m remained open
to EU. Still no Africa stations for years now (or so it seems).
