Comments:
Tripled last year score in 50% more time. Got to get some running practice in.
Had a tuner fail the night before, and had to rearrange some antenna plkans - so
was using the Hexbeam on 10-20, a monogap vertical on 40TX, a receive loop
phased with a 80M dipole on 40RX, and a manually recabled and reused 80M dipole
on 80TX with the loop phased against the 40M vertical for the one contact I made
there.
15M local QRM was atrocious on Saturday morning and almost threw the towel in,
came back a bit later to find that it had abated and then had a fantastic
opening to EU on 20 and again 15. Asia was the bread and butter early in the AM
on 40 & 20.
I took lots of breaks and didn't really count them out, but most of the day was
in the radio chair or nearby. Did not try to work everything I heard at all
times, went thru bursts, then ran on CW for a bit, then multiplier hunted, rinse
and repeat.
This is a really fun contest with the HQ's and mixed mode action, as well as the
Contestants to work.
