Comments:

Another 'haunting' of the local Grid Corner in the CoROVERolla. Equipment was an
FT-991 (100 Watts) with a KB6KQ Loop antenna about 4 feet above the roof (about
9 feet elevation overall).

When CQ calls were not garnering responses, I tried using a low cost notebook
computer running the WSJT-X software but acoustically coupled from the radio
speaker to the microphone input of the computer. What this configuration was
able to decode was interesting; sadly there were many STRONG local decodes that
I'm quite sure would have been easy contacts on SSB but the stations were never
heard in the 'phone' area of the band.

I sure hope there will be more folks checking the 'phone' area of the band
(maybe CW, too?) for the June VHF Contest and not staying anchored at 50.313 MHz
watching their computer screens.

As always, thanks to all who participated in this Sprint, to the Central States
VHF Society for their continued sponsorship of the Spring Sprint series and to
the management team of KA2KQM, W0ZQ and WB8BZK who do the legwork to keep the
series going.

73, JK
