Comments:

First, thanks to all the rover and portable stations who make this contest so
much fun! If it wasn’t for their participation it would be a totally different
type of QSO party. And, what makes the Florida QSO Party so unique. It is also
fun to play in the Florida “Spelling Bee”.

Unfortunately, I had to operate my station on wire antennas this year. My
Cushcraft X7 beam at 82 feet has a bad 4:1 matching balun and I couldn’t use
it at all. Hopefully, that will get fixed in the next couple of weeks, but it
still didn’t take away the fun of the weekend chasing rovers all over Florida.
We also had to deal with severe storms in Virginia, which hit us on Sunday
afternoon and had to shut down several times until the lighting cleared the
area. It also affected the bands throughout the day with a lot of static
crashes and high noise levels. Forty meters was all but useless most of Sunday,
due to the noise, so 20 meters was our go to band. Fifteen was also very poor at
our location, particularly without a beam. Forget ten meter here!

Thanks again for a great QSO Party and we look forward to next years.
