Wow! This was a fun Sprint! Propagation was flat from what I could tell. But, I
worked stations in GA, FL, NC, SC, TN, AL and OH. Some stations were notably
absent. But pretty good activity level for the SE. Longest distance was with
N4TWX at 336 miles. K8TQK was up there too at 329 miles. Thanks Terry and Bob!
Was fun to work my son, KJ4OLQ via QRP/SSB on his FT-817 as well! All of my
QSO's were via SSB. I finally switched my sequencer over to work with my
IC-9700 so could run my 8877 with the new radio. Set up here ... Icom IC-9700 to
8877 about 800 watts or so. 7/8ths feedline to 16 element yagi on 65 foot tower.
Ground elevation is 3200 feet. Was nice to see the activity in other areas of
the country. Wonder how many folks were on SSB vs. digital? Thanks for all the
rovers and single ops for getting on the air! Hope to work you on 222 MHz next
