Comments:

Hello from Kakaako, Honolulu, Hawaii!

Limited operating time, I was planning to operate from the park on the high
bands in the afternoon, and on 40m from my QTH. Didn't quite work out the way I
planned.

I joined Bob NH6O in the park, when the bands were really kind of dead. When
they started warming up, I made 2 contacts, and then my KX2's AF/GAIN/MON knob
froze up, and I couldn't turn it. Of course, frozen in a position that I
couldn't really use the radio. So I need to figure out how to get it fixed.

I did try my backup radio at my QTH, a Yaesu FT450D with magnet wire on my
endfed box. I do have a tuner, but it's very flaky, and I've never been
successful with this tuner before, so this worked out exactly as well as you
would think.

Not the best of radio days for a Heather. The FT450D works well with my other
antenna, so I can get on the air, just not the way I was attempting last night!

Aloha and 72

Heather
