Comments:

I enjoyed the opportunity to compare my two wire antennas on 10m. One is a
horizontal 80m loop at 40-50 ft., and the other is a simple diamond 10m loop at
about 20 ft. The big loop is partially over my house and picks up lots of RFI
from the neighbor's and my HVACs. The small loop was set up 100 ft. from the
house to avoid the RFI and see how much difference the distance from the house
makes. It turns out that the small loop is significantly quieter as long as it
isn't broadside to the house. On the other hand, most stations could hear me
better on the high loop. In fact, for a few contacts, I used the small loop for
receiving and switched to the big loop to work the station. It would clearly be
worthwhile to put up a good antenna, with some height away from the house. I
just have to take some territory from the trees.
