Comments:

Looks like I really shot myself in the foot this time. Spent several hours on
Monday and Tuesday replacing my old 80-40-20 inverted that never would work on
20 meters with an all-new version. It obviously needed some fine tuning to bring
the resonances where I want, but unlike the old antenna it did actually show a
distinct resonance for the 20 meter section. It turns out the thing might as
well be a dummy load on 40 meters. I couldn't get any kind of run going at the
beginning of the session and had extreme difficulty getting through to anybody
S&P. I ended up abandoning 40 meters and went to 20, still using the old low
dipole. Conditions were very good on both 40 and 20, and I ended up even getting
a decent run going on 20 for the last 10 minutes or so. With bad weather coming
this weekend, looks like I'll be handicapped even worse until I either find out
what's going with the new antenna or see if I can troubleshoot the old antenna
and put it back up later on. See everyone with a lousy signal on BOTH sessions
for an undetermined time.

Randy, W8FN
