My first full time single-op all bands effort in a 48h contest since 2005 CQWW
CW. It's still as crazy as before.
The condtions dropped down before the start and remained that way until Sunday
evening. At least if the situation is compared to the prevailing space weather
indicators. 10m meters never opened properly, the other bands worked a bit
better.
The equipment worked well except for the rough running sound of the second
amplifier. It sounds like a diesel generator running inside. On the other hand,
there started to be problems with the operator also, especially in the last
hours of the contest.
Daytime operation of 80 meters was not possible due to the neighboring formula
karting track and their race event there. Car timing devices operate in the
middle of the 3.5MHz radio amateur band and cannot tolerate other transmissions
coming from nearby.
