Club: Central Texas DX and Contest Club
Comments:
For most of the past ten years a group of Central Texas DX and Contest Club
members have operated from my station as 2E with the club call W5CT. This year
my wife had a knee replacement on Wednesday before Field Day. She is doing well
but still is dependent of me for care. I also had some equipment issues so had
to call our club effort off for this year. I was able to operate for a few short
stretches. Used my battery powered IC705 with about 4 watts out. Amazing how
well it does at times. Never operated a full hour stretch but had a half hour
rate of 122/hour. Did better running than S&P. Hopefully next year we can be
back to 2E with a full crew.
