This was a fun contest! Everything worked well and lots of activity from every
corner of the world.
At noon on Sunday I was falling asleep during contacts and I asked my wife,
rhetorically, why in the world anyone would stay awake all weekend and sit in a
chair operating the radio, and then let her know there were some who actually do
this every weekend in sone contest.
Wanting to set a goal to keep me focused and awake, I figured I if I could
average about 175 for the last 7 hours I would make over 6000 contacts and
possibly reach 9M points. That would be good for me. So I sat in the chair for
seven hours and resisted looking at the multiplier list. I wanted to reach the
goal with the reward of spending any time remaining doing nothing but playing
DXer.
I went over 6000 contacts (averaging 174 per hour for 6-1/2 hours) and 9M points
about the same time with 27 minutes remaining and had a lot of fun in those
remaining minutes.
This is what I worked in that remaining time:
