Started off with a bang with VY1CO calling in the first ten minutes!
Toughest sections for me were EWA, Ak, and VE6. I get bored when rates
drop in any contest, and SS has maybe 2000 guys on vs WWCW with 40,000!
I heard a weak VE6EX when searching with the beam to the NW and could tell
he came back to e and copied his QRP exchange, but wasnt sure of my number
which I copied as 117. It didnt matter because I forgot to enter the
contact! Later worked 2 loud VE6's.
CQing with the beam to the Northwes an EWA station with a call like WC7I
called in with a pretty good signal. I later worked WC7S in EWA and
wondered if I copied the first guy wrong, but he had a different check.
S&P found a loud KL7SB, the only one I worked. I spent alot of time looking
for the sweep but didnt reach my goal of 1000Qs because I was too bored
with plenty of time left. I think Ill make a note for the future to only
operate the first few hours!
