Congrats to Krassy and the RHR crew on discovering that coastal Maine is a
pretty good place for 160!

It's been a while since I last did this contest seriously. I recalled often
having the highest multiplier but lower QSOs than the other guys, so I focused
on rate most of the contest.

Looking at the other top scores now, I see that I swung a bit too far and missed
out on some mults. I guess I need to brush up on my SO2V skills - only did it a
couple of hours Saturday night. The only multiplier I heard but did not work was
HC2AO who I heard call someone then disappear.

Missed VY1 as expected, but also SF, SJV, and VE7. Got VE5SF 30 minutes after
sunrise Sunday on a last sweep of the band for my last QSO and mult.

Very pleased to have a number of JA stations call on Sunday morning. One called
me, then 30 minutes later 3 more called, then 30 minutes later 2 more. Also
worked 7 UA9/0 stations, including RT0F who was loud and steady for several
hours both mornings.

Overall propagation seemed good, activity could have been better from outside
the U.S. A couple of hours of snow static Saturday night, but overall pretty
quiet.

Thursday evening when I got to the station and fired up on 160 I worked JT1CO,
which was a real treat. I did not hear him during the contest though.

469 5-point QSOs, best hour 157 (first hour).

73 and thanks for all the QSOs,

Doug K1DG
