Operator(s):
Station: VE3CRU/R

Class: Rover LP
QTH: FN04/FN03
Operating Time (hrs): 2.0

Summary:
Total: QSOs = 7 Mults = 5 Tot Dist(km) = 0 Total Score = 35

Club: Rochester VHF Group

Comments:

Started contest with multiple handicaps, namely FM only, antenna rotation by
steering car, ground fog and not feeling well.

First qso in FN04 with VA3ELE FN03. Then N2YB FN12, loud. Heard another
station, not identified but K1TEO sked time, missed Jeff in FN31. Soon after,
heard and worked N2SLN portable who had a clean signal. Moved to 222.100 and
was wiping out N2YB on .095.. Apologies OM. Last 2 in grid was VE3DS FN03 and
VE3ZV EN92 with great signals.

Moved to FN03, praying for a qso to validate me as a rover. Got VA3ELE first
followed by VE3DS, no others heard. Packed up and went home. Closest qso 60
km, best odx N2SLN @ 306 km.

Participation was weak in Ontario and same across the lake, never heard anything
west of EN92. No other rovers out.

Thanks to contest sponsor SVHFS and to all who participated. Had fun.
Looking forward to next Sprints.

73,

Bill VE3CRU/R .........more soapbox comments make for interesting reading.
