Comments:

CQing didn't work for me, which was a surprise since contacts came easily on 5
bands. I guess you need a big signal to get attention when folks are hunting. I
used a K3 running 50W to an 80m horizontal loop. For 40m, I sometimes switched
to a 160m inverted L. My son come over to celebrate my wife's birthday, and I
took the opportunity to show him how to work RTTY. Using ESM with N1MM+ makes
it almost too easy; however, I managed to end up in Run mode when it was
supposed to be in S&P at least twice. Once you get in the grove of
click-click-click-done, you can get caught sending the wrong stuff and look like
an idiot. I'm sure one operator put me on his list of people to pray for. OK,
I admit to being asleep at the wheel, literally. At just before 2 AM, I caught
myself nodding while some poor guy tried to get me to send my exchange, and
decided to pull the plug. It was very timely. 73, thanks for the Q's, Rob
