This was my first 7QP and I had a lot of fun. I operated from our cabin in the
Sierra at a 5000 foot elevation in a forest running my equipment from battery
backup and a small generator which limited my power to around 300W to 400W. I
used an older rig but a good one...an Icom IC-775DSP with and old Icom IC AT-500
automatic antenna tuner and an Icom IC-2KL solid state 500 Watt amplifier.
Antennas included an inverted Vee antenna for 80M, a four element KLM 40M beam
and a 40M vertical for 40M and a KLM four element triband beam antenna a KT-34.
Everything played well together and frankly my goal was to just have fun and
provide at least 100 QSOs to the deserving...(we managed to make 235 QSOs
operating part time). I plan to do it again next year! Thanks for the fun all.
