Comments:

What an amazing first day! I was 300 Q's ahead of last year before the bands
died. 20 and 15 were open all night, with 15m open to EU even if many couldn't
hear me. Great JA signals on 15m at times through the night, peaking about
local sunrise. Wow!

For some reason I can't get much going after sunrise in this contest. The
bands are open, but signals are very weak and the CQ machine works over time.
I took several hours off only to return to find that the predicted solar event
finally showed up. After another hour or so of operating it was clear that
wasting my time on the radio milking USA for another day was not going to be
enjoyable. Spent the rest of the weekend with the family, which was great.

Big time thanks to NK7U, K7ZO, K7ZS, and all of the other SRRCC guys for
keeping the station going and letting me operate. Only had 2 brief periods of
audio drop outs for less than a minute of total down time. The "Longest 3
minutes in radio" waiting for an amp to warm up is nothing compared to the
time lost waiting for audio to return!

I missed the first 20 minutes due to a Windows 10 update. I had everything
going a couple hours before the contest, but when I walked in around 2330z I
see Windows had *just* decided I had hit "No Thanks" too many times
and forced the update. First QSO around 0020z. That was incredibly
frustrating, but the off time would equalize that out in the end if a guy was
to actually do the whole contest.

Congratulations to everyone who stuck it out.
