I used a homebrew transverter with my K3 to operate 2M CW and SSB for the first
time since moving to EPA nearly nine years ago. Running 10W to a hastily
constructed dipole hanging 15 ft. up from a branch of a pine tree performed
better than I expected (which is to say, I was impressed anyone could hear me
at all).
I'm in FN20pi, and "DX" for me was FN21 on 6M and FN31 on 2M. I did
hear FN10 on 6M and FN19 on 2M but that was it.
Equipment:
6M: K3S at 100W to dipole at 30 ft.
2M: K3 + homebrew transverter at 10W to dipole at 15 ft.
