Comments:

Got a chance to operate for a few hours Friday and Saturday. Superb conditions
Friday. Very much looking forward to the Stew in a few weeks.

In trying to maximize my small suburban lot for contesting, I've been using an
Inverted L with an FCP counterpoise. I also laid out a relatively short BOG
aimed at about 70 degrees and set the K3 in dual RX diversity.

I was very happy with the improvement offered by this minimal BOG and
diversity, it helped a great deal with fading and in many cases the BOG (though
short) had better s/n than the TX antenna.

However, this was the first time I've run 1500W from here on 160, and I know
there were callers I could not hear. Even the few EU stations I worked were
quite difficult to copy. My location isn't all that noisy, but I will still
need to improve SNR a bit more.

Tried DXLog for the first time in this contest, and there seemed to be a glitch
with its control of my WinKeyer, resulting in the first word space being omitted
from any CQ that followed a QSO.

Thanks for the Qs. I was reminded why this is one of my favorite contests.
