Comments:

I'm not a fan of phone contests. On the other hand, it's fun to be part of such
a huge competitive event, perhaps the biggest there is in the world in any
sport (in terms of participants), so there's that to consider. In any case, I
showed up. I concentrated on 10m and 15m while I still could as I am fond of
them and will miss them dearly in the upcoming years. Does anyone know any
propagation "rain" dances?

Conditions weren't all that good. Still, there was enough life left in 10m that
we may be able to squeeze out some fun in the December RTTY and ARRL contests.
Hope so.

I was a spectator and a participant. For the first time I uploaded my log to
the live contest scores web site in real time and checked occasionally to see
how I and others were doing. That's a nice feature and kept me involved with
the contest as a whole.

Blooper and full disclosure: I got up Saturday morning in my usual fog and
worked a station right off the bat, then called ZF9CW who informed me I was out
of band. Ah, yes, I was on 21157, not 14157. Wrong band. Oops. Well, it gave
me a chance to use the Cabrillo X-QSO feature. I hope the QSO still counts for
LT1F.

Thanks for the Qs and for digging my signal out of the deep doo-doo. I'll see
you in the CW contest in a month where things generally flow better for me.

73,
Ken, AB1J
