Comments:
Congrats to WA1Z for another great score with his modest antenna system! And
thanks to all the folks that traveled to DX spots for the contest as well as
all the other great operators from all over the world who took time over the
weekend to work the US and Canada. My score is certainly not up to 2015
standards - 2/3 of last years . Of course the big difference was ten meters -
down 560 QSOs and 38 mults. But QSO totals were down on most of the other bands
too although, discounting ten meters, I did have more multipliers. When you
spend less time on ten that's no surprise. I worked 22 stations on 6 bands -
surprising since I had only 36 Q's on 160. They were: 8P5A, CU4DX, HG3R, HI3Y,
JA3YBK, KH6LC, KH7M, KP3Z, KP4KE, NP2N, P40W (QRP!), P40XM, PJ2T, PJ4X, PJ6A,
T48K, TI5W, TO7A, V26M, V31TP, VP2MWA, and VP9/W6PH. Really tired Sunday
afternoon despite 3 hours sleep (compared to 2 the night before). Took a short
walk and a shower but did not seem to help much. I've been working the second
radio harder in recent contests and think it takes more out of you. Of course
the fact that I'm another year older... naw! Unfortunately pushing the hours
to the max does take some of the fun out of it. I'll be back for the phone
version but may put in a few less hours.
