I used my IC-746 at 5 watts with a 40M fixed wire beam west at 40 feet and 80M
half wave with tuned feeders at 45 feet.
Found out too late that the "ladder line" apparently had blown around
so much I had a hidden break in the copperweld. I had to limit 15M operation to
very few times due to RFI (which kept killing my logging software, forcing me to
restart the PC each time!) and even some TVI. It tuned up okay, after all, but
next time I will do more than look at it and assume it's okay!
Conditions sounded pretty good here, except for 10M. I never heard a KL7 or
VY/VE8 but got a KH6 on 40M in the early morning. Also missed EWA and UT,
though I heard them on 15 when I could not get on there!
It was fun, even if hard work at times. Some big guns on from VT limited my
"rarity" this time.
