HUMBUG: Double Murphy strike tonight. All antennas were fine last night in
CWT, and at noon today.

First 5 min. on 20m tonight were fine, then attempted a Q on second radio on
40m. No response from a loud station who CQ'd in my face, then noticed SWR was
5:1. Checked 160m on the same radio, SWR 4:1: I assumed a
radio/coax/autoswitching problem. Went behind the bench and connected 40 and
160 to the 'good' radio, same result. So, I quit, and tore the station antenna
system apart, finding nothing wrong. By flashlight, I found two un-related
problems: loose coax connector on the 40m stackmatch input, shorted radiator
on the 160m from wind this afternoon.

Fortunately, no major damage/loss, but dis-appointing to have this happen
during a 30 min. contest, with no recovery time.

The day did not end with complete disaster, as the SJ Sharks won the second
round playoff series and go on to battle Vancouver.
